How to get more traffic from Google Image search?

Sometimes you can get more traffic from google image search rather than normal web search.I have a site where I get good percentage of traffic from Image search.Check out this image for traffic obtained to one of my friends site. He got good number of visitors from google image search as well.

Putting a little effort can rank your images much better and drive a good amount of traffic. Though it may not be as much as traffic you obtain from normal web search, it is definitely competitive and comparable.These are the some of the ways by which your image can rank better in search results.

• Higher quality images can rank better than lower quality images.
• Label the image properly and choose keyword as name of image. Search engines prefer Keyword.jpg over DSC02212.jpg.
• Use proper Alt and Title tags for images. These tags will boost the image rank much higher.
• Optimising page with image keywords is also equally important. Appropriate keyword Text around the image will also impact positively on its rankings
