Google vs BING vs Yahoo in Worldwide Searches

Microsoft Bing is doing great in the initial stages of its launch. It overtook the world No. 2 Search engine Yahoo in the last few days in total number of searches. However it is far behind the Internet giant Google.

On June 4, according to data released by StatCounter Global Stats, Bing accounted for 5.62 percent of all worldwide searches, compared to Yahoo's 5.13 percent.To reach Google's 87.62 percent is very hard for both the above search engines. In the US, StatCounter says, Bing grabbed 16.28 per cent of June 4 searches, Yahoo! 10.22 per cent, and Google 71.47 per cent.


Microsoft is very happy with the response their search engine is getting. It has to be seen whether Bing beats yahoo continuously in the coming days.

"Steve Ballmer is quoted as saying that he wanted Microsoft to become the second biggest search engine within five years. Following the breakdown in talks to acquire Yahoo! at a cost of $40bn it looks as if he may have just achieved that with Bing much sooner and a lot cheaper than anticipated."

One should wait to findout whether BING outbeats YAHOO in the next few years and how far it reduces the share of google.
